Senior Front-End Drupal Developer

Position Overview

Isobar is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer with recent experience developing solutions for the Drupal CMS, with strong preference for candidates who’ve worked in Drupal 8.  The candidate must have experience with Twig, HTML5, SCSS, CSS, and have a solid understanding of JavaScript and JavaScript libraries (preferably jQuery). The candidate must have a strong understanding of Drupal’s theming layer and be proficient in writing preprocessor functions and developing theming templates. They must be able to develop custom themes from wireframes and comps. Additional experience using atomic design patterns is a plus.

Senior Front-End Developers at Isobar are expected to participate in multiple phases of projects, working closely with UX, UI and Back End development teams. They should be familiar with Agile development practices and tools, including daily scrums and version control. The candidate must be a team player, able to collaborate with all project team members to produce outstanding results.


  • Create clean, Semantic site template files from provided wireframes
  • Deliver high quality code and documentation in a timely manner with little supervision
  • Work closely with designers and back-end developers to solve display challenges for multi-platform applications
  • Accurately report issues and status to project management
  • Participate in technical requirements, including requirements gathering, design, and testing
  • Adopt and utilize iterative/Agile methodology as needed or requested

Required Experience / Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience with JavaScript development
  • 3+ years’ experience implementing solutions using PHP
  • 1+ years’ experience developing custom themes with Drupal
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or engineering
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Drupal front-end design patterns, including pre-processor functions
  • Thorough understanding of responsive web design, fluid layouts and positioning, browser behavior and compatibility, cross-browser issues and solutions, and coding for Search Engine Optimization
  • Able to conceptualize and design workflows in CMS
  • Knowledge of CMS platform configuration and optimization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and production diagnostic skills

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of newer front-end technologies, including Twig and Decoupled (headless) development processes
