At the recent Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Australia – the largest industry event of its kind in the region – the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Isobar Singapore presented an interactive 360-degree display to showcase Singapore as a leading MICE destination.


The Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (C.A.V.E), coined ‘Your Virtual Singapore Experience Room’, combined virtual reality projection with interactive sensor controls to create an immersive experience for visitors – transporting them through the unique attractions and meeting spaces in Singapore.


“Virtual reality or VR has been the buzzword for some time now, but what we did here was harness that technology to really create something that was game changing for our client. That is what innovation is truly about: ensuring that we make it relevant and beneficial for the end-user,” commented Chye Yong Hock, the Motion/Design Director at Isobar Singapore who led the project.


Through state-of-the art technology, visitors to the booth enjoyed a three-dimensional, flythrough experience of various locations and activities throughout Singapore. A viewing gallery further enabled visitors to explore Singapore’s diverse meeting spaces including the recently-awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Singapore Botanic Gardens; and discover the gastronomic cuisines and the vibrant entertainment, night life, culture and heritage the city has to offer.


The ‘Your Virtual Singapore Experience Room’ was well received by visitors at AIME 2016, winning STB the “Best Innovative Stand” AIME Award.


“We are currently exploring other areas where this sort of technology would come in handy, such as in events planning, where customers can visualize the space they are interested in from different angles and in 3D,” added Chye
