Kinecto Isobar brings Forest Sounds alongside Greenpeace Romania and Pelicam

Kinecto Isobar Bucharest and Greenpeace Romania launched the second phase of their Uncut campaign, called "The forest is not a silent film", with Pelicam International Environmental Film Festival joining in as partners. The third band to enter the project is the internationally acclaimed Moonlight Breakfast – who shot a special video for an alternative version of their song, “Bonjour”. The clip is available on Youtube, and had its premiere during the band’s concert in Tulcea, marking the end of the film festival. What makes the song stand out is that real sounds from real forests were integrated seamlessly in it.

Uncut.ro is a platform developed for Greenpeace Romania in 2017, as part of the NGOs efforts to protect Romania’s primary forests. A mix of ambient real sounds recorded in the virgin forests of Romania were united in an album entitled Uncut and available for streaming and download on www.uncut.ro – either for free or for a small donation at will to help Greenpeace Romania in their fights.

Before Moonlight Breakfast, two other Romanian bands joined the project and integrated forest sounds in their songs: Coma and The Pixels.

"According to the only official estimates from 2005, Romania had at least 220,000 hectares of virgin forests. As the authorities did nothing to save this heritage, Greenpeace Romania coordinated in 2017 a nationwide study that showed that there are still 300,000 hectares of potential virgin forests. In order to protect them it is imperative to catalogue and register each forest in a register called the „National catalogue of virgin and quasi-virgin forests in Romania”. Until then, Romania's most valuable ecosystems, the home of over 13,000 plant and animal species, are vulnerable to indifference and greed.  Uncut.ro is therefore an instrument by which we want to remind both citizens and authorities that it is important to protect this valuable national patrimony relevant at European and world level" said Ciprian Galusca, the coordinator of the forest campaign and biodiversity from Greenpeace Romania.

The campaign aims to bring notoriety to this great problem facing Romania - deforestation of virgin forests and, at the same time aim to convince Romanians to engage in a forest protection action - whether it is the signing of the petition accompanying the spot campaign or donation, involvement in planting campaigns, etc.

All those interested are encouraged to sign the petition here: http://www.greenpeace.org/romania/en/campanii/paduri/Activitati/lansare-uncut/.
