Gavin Becker joins Isobar NZ as Managing Director

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Gavin Becker as Managing Director of Isobar New Zealand.

With over 20 years’ experience spanning startups, creative agencies and innovation consultancies, Becker has deep knowledge of emerging technologies, human-centered product innovation and experience design - making him the perfect fit.  He joins Isobar from North, an innovation accelerant he founded that helps businesses identify, build and nurture customer-centred products, experiences and ventures. Prior to this, his career spanned across New Zealand and the United States, including senior leadership roles with Colenso BBDO, Made by Many, AKQA and Twitter.

Becker will be responsible for continuing the commercial growth of Isobar across New Zealand, including showcasing our capability to creatively solve complex business problems, powered by creativity.

Commencing on 14 April 2020 Becker will report into Robert Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Aegis Network NZ, which owns the agency. He will also sit on the Dentsu Aegis Network NZ leadership team.

Gavin Becker commented: “Joining Isobar at a time when human connection and experience matters more than ever is an honour. There are few organisations in the world better placed to harness the potential of design and technology to help businesses navigate this unprecedented change and thrive in a disrupted world.

“The opportunity to nurture and grow the talented team in New Zealand and serve as a beacon for innovation across Dentsu is just incredible – I can’t wait to get started,” said Becker.

Robert Harvey, Dentsu Aegis Network NZ CEO, commented: “It’s never been a more important time to hire someone like Gavin. As we emerge from the current situation, we need to ensure we have the very best digital economy leadership with a passion to drive innovation for our group and clients. I’m thrilled to bring Gavin into the business and couldn’t imagine a talent more right for the times."
