Asda George and Isobar win best innovation gong
The annual Drapers Digital Awards took place at The Brewery in London on the 15th May, with Asda George and Isobar walking away with the gong for Best Digital Innovation.
Fighting off competition from a host of fashion giants, including Shop Direct and N Brown, the work submitted was rewarded by the judges for its mastery of new technologies, which included a Progressive Web App (PWA).
Asda George, in partnership with Isobar, launched a PWA last year to great success, with mobile conversion jumping 31% and page load times quickening by 3.8 times on average.
“This win is just reward for all the people who have worked tirelessly to grow the relationship with Asda into a fruitful one,” explained Mustafa Rashid, Isobar’s head of emerging technologies.
“We’re proud to end this phase of development on a win and look forward to working with Asda George to drive the online business forward in the future.”
John Nother, Senior Director Digital Technology at Asda, who collected the award on the night, recently joined Isobar on stage at the European leg of Futr – an annual gathering of brands and retailers, focused on fresh thinking and progressive change in retail, marketing and commerce – to discuss the project and the people behind it.
