Gyro Account Manager

Reporting to: Account Director / Client Services Director

The role:

To build relationships with nominated clients and manage their projects and campaigns acting as key day to day client contact. They should be focused on delivering excellent service to their clients whilst pushing work through the agency to utilise the team effectively and meet monthly revenue forecasts.

We are a committed bunch of people that deliver bespoke solutions to our clients but as part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, gyro and its clients also benefit from working with other specialist experts from within the network as required.

We’re looking for an organised, hard worker that gets on well with everybody around them. You’ll need to get under the skin of your clients and identify opportunities by really listening and asking the right questions.

Client Responsibilities:

  • Act as day to day contact for your clients, responding to emails and calls in a timely manner
  • To build strong relationships with clients across all accounts so they can talk frankly and openly to you
  • To proactively pick up client projects
  • To interrogate client briefs and ensure their requirements are fully understood, providing back briefs to align everybody
  • To develop ignition, copy and continuation briefs
  • To manage a project from briefing to final delivery including estimating, providing timings plans and managing resource
  • To demonstrate a clear understanding of the clients business and their target audience
  • To anticipate client needs and exceed their expectations
  • To anticipate any issues or challenges and try to mitigate those
  • To provide tactical advice to clients, keeping them up to date with any activity or news you think could be relevant to their role
  • To create and talk through presentations and proposals with clients

Colleague responsibilities:

  • To manage and delegate to Senior Account Exec
  • To provide support to the CSD / AD ensuring they get a clear snapshot of key projects and highlight and lowlights
  • To share interesting, relevant knowledge or client work with your colleagues to benefit them or their clients
  • To train and support Senior Account Exec in order to develop them
  • Support Creative team by developing clear and concise briefs and answering any questions they have

Gyro Responsibilities:

  • To provide adhoc support to New Biz Director, for example, preparing RFI’s, creds decks and new biz DM projects
  • To manage costs, budgets and timelines across all projects reporting in line with agency processes and systems
  • To ensure that invoices are raised on a regular basis and revenue forecast is updated accordingly
  • To ensure that we only work with third party approved suppliers and that all paperwork is managed if we work with any new suppliers
  • To ensure that any issues which may have a negative impact on the business are addressed and highlighted to the AD/CSD immediately
  • To track your projects and how they are performing against client estimate and actual time spent – ensuring profitability
  • To produce and analyse weekly reconciliation reports on all live projects
  • To book internal resource in line with timings plans and ensure briefs are clear and prompt according to time you have booked
  • To try and fill any free internal time with projects that can be pulled forward or proactive client work

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience of working within a creative environment, confident to brief Creative Department
  • Proven project management and implementation skills to ensure day-today running of accounts, managing multiple projects at any one time
  • Ability to critique creative effectively
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to tight deadlines and to multi-task
  • Presentation skills both in terms of developing a solid flow to a presentation and presenting to clients and colleagues
  • Integrated experience is ideal (strategy, creative, online, DM, print, radio, AV)
  • Media experience is a bonus but not essential
  • Good all round marketing and brand comms knowledge
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to create timings plans and clear actions client and agency side
  • B2b experience preferred but not essential
