Honor 7


One of the biggest breakthroughs of 2015 was Huawei with it’s Honor 7 brand. Isobar with it’s Dentsu Aegis Network colleagues have had the honor to work for the new rocket of the mobile market. At the end of 2015 we carried out a large Honor 7 campaign stating boldly: The world needs brave individuals (Maailma tarvitsee rohkeita yksilöitä).

The results

In December 2015 Finland ranked first in the world for most “Honor 7” searches on Google. On Youtube the videos of Evelina, Obed and Hans had been viewed more than 600000 times. Honor 7 became one of the most sold smart phones in Finland.

The challenge

It’s sales season of Christmas and New Year – how can we stand out in a crowd during the most competitive season of the year.

The solution

The campaign was enforced through brand ambassadors with credibility: we found the captain of the Finnish U19 soccer team and trendsetter Obed Malolo, Evelina - a singer–songwriter on the edge of her breakthrough as well as rapping chef Hans Väkevä. The approach was successful and largely emphasized through social media. An Omnichannel approach and 360-type of media planning carried out the Honor 7 campaign, including to bus stops, subway trains, shopping malls, television and the cover page of Helsingin Sanomat. Activation was maintained via social media channels, a campaign site and through the #forthebrave hashtag. The content was planned and created by Isobar Finland: still-photos and editing were produced at our new office studio in Etelä-Esplanadi 2, whilst location photography was taken across downtown Helsinki.
