Meet the team | Andrew Chothia

Meet our Chief of Revenue, Andrew. Find out how building lasting relationships with clients keeps us ahead of the game.
So, who are you and what do you do?

My role as Chief Revenue Officer at Isobar UK & Ireland is primarily focused on working with a great team to drive our clients’ success in a highly complex, fast-moving eCommerce environment helping them inspire, win, keep, and grow their customers. Focused on experience and technology we work closely with all our agencies in dentsu and industry partners to deliver experience led commerce that enables our clients to deliver market leading growth.

Tell us a bit about your background

I began my career in a sales role and immediately enjoyed the opportunity to work with different people and organisations, get to understand their goals and challenges and play a role in trying to help them succeed.

25 years on, my desire for growing clients and engaging new clients in predominantly financial services and retail has not diminished, if anything it has grown as I am still excited seeing clients deliver success and our contribution in that. Since joining Isobar in 2013 we have had the opportunity to build long term relationships with fantastic brands like Asda, Clarins, adidas, Signify and many more.

What does your normal working day look like?

A very enjoyable part of my job is the variability of my day with each day containing a variety of activities ranging from strategic initiatives in the business, overseeing the client facing team and collaborating with teams across dentsu. I also have the pleasure of working with our technology partners, such as Salesforce and Adobe, and of course meeting with clients.

Through the pandemic period our teams and clients have been brilliant but I have certainly missed that most valuable time of sitting down in person with colleagues and clients, and whilst Microsoft Teams has worked I am excited we will meet colleagues and clients again very soon.

What skills and expertise do you need to be good at your job?

Whilst you can bring a lot of experience to a role you are always part of a team that will collectively bring a more diverse mix of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives from which we can all learn to be collectively more successful.  Enabling people to be able to share that experience and express their perspectives is one way we can keep learning ourselves and be aligned around the goals we individually and collectively have.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?

Simply the amazing opportunity I have to work with such a talented team of people across the business and the clients we have the privilege to build long relationships with.

Do you have any advice for someone starting out in their career?

Where you start your career does not have to dictate your career path, but always take advantage of the opportunity it brings.

Take time to build positive relationships with the people you work with and learn as much as you can from them. This will help not only your personal development but could potentially provide career opportunities in the future.

Finally a positive mindset can take you a long way as there will always be challenges but there is always a way forward, and whilst not always obvious, with a positive mindset you will find it.
