We created a vending machine where Oreo Cookies was the currency and the cookie bar was the reward.

Challenge

Launching chocolate candy bars

Everyone knows the Oreo brand for it's distinctive cookie. So we needed a particularly innovative way to let people know about the new Oreo Cookie Candy Bar that leveraged the traditional cookie's brand of playfulness and magic, whilst ensuring differentiation as a new product - all in the hope that we could boost online sales.

Solution

A new currency

We created a vending machine where Oreo Cookies was the currency and the cookie bar was the reward. When people inserted a cookie into the machine, the Oreo let off a chain reaction that magically and right before the user's eyes, turned into the new Oreo Chocolate Candy Bar.

After the candy bar is delivered, the machine shows a Rappi code so the users can purchase more products through the Rappi app.

Playful commerce

Following the vending machine launch, 20% of Rappi orders included a Oreo Chocolate Candy Bar, with +127% in sales vs product in store and 529% in online sales by the third week of implementation.
