As Executive Creative Director of Isobar Malaysia, Sanyen has built an impressive portfolio of internationally awarded work, which includes designing new media interactions, learning and applying new technologies and telling stories through digital mediums. He continues to have a special place in his heart for user experience design.
Clients he has worked with include SK-II, Sony, Discovery International, Honda, Unilever, British American Tobacco, Fox International Channels, Mudah.my, ASTRO and CIMB.
Under his creative leadership, Isobar Malaysia has picked up over 100 awards from DMAM (Direct Marketing Association Malaysia), MC2 (Malaysia’s Creative Circle), the One Show Interactive, New York Festival and the Webby Awards. In 2009, the agency won the prestigious Golden Kancil Award, going on to win Kancil Agency of the Year in 2010 and the Golden Kancil Award again in 2017. In that same year, they also bagged a Spikes Gold, which has eluded Malaysian agencies for the past three years, along with the coveted ‘Country Agency of the Year’ award. Most recently, they won five Effies at the Malaysia Effie Awards 2017. Isobar Malaysia has also been Campaign Asia’s Digital Agency of the Year for two years in a row in 2015 and 2016.
Sanyen has made appearances to speak and exhibit his work at various design conferences in Stuttgart, Helsinki, Singapore, Melbourne and New Zealand, and continues to share his passion, as a guest speaker, at various design universities in Malaysia.
He attributes much of his achievements to a father who allowed him to watch Doraemon, instead of studying.
