Chief Creative Officer

Chris Chen has more than 28 years’ experience in advertising, 21 of which are in digital marketing. As Chief Creative Officer of Isobar China Group, Chris is responsible for leading and integrating the creative teams in the agencies. He is tasked with delivering superior quality work, developing new creative products, and supporting the agency’s creative culture beyond the day-to-day client engagements. He also supports and promotes the agency brand, setting the tone for its creative philosophy and excellency.

In previous roles, Chris founded Trio Digital in 1999, before it was acquired by Isobar in 2013. After joining the network, Chris continued as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Creative Director of Trio Isobar, taking charge of the creative duties and operations of the company, before being appointed as Chief Creative Officer of Isobar China Group in January 2018.

Chris was on the jury of the 2019 Cannes Festival and has judged at renowned awards events, including the New York Festival, Spikes Asia, and D&AD. In 2019, Chris was awarded Greater China Creative Person of the Year by Campaign Asia and 2016 saw him receive the accolade of Greater China Agency Head of the Year. He is a frequent speaker at leading industry events.

Chris and his team have won more than 100 awards across the world, including Cannes Gold Lion, Digital Creative Agency of the Year of ROI 2017, gold in Spikes 2016, Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest), China Effie and One Show China. Having studied interactive design in the School of Visual Art in New York, Chris believes that the key to successful digital communication is not only about creative and technical skills but the integration of brand strategies, interactive experience and innovative technology.

Creative to the core, Chris was one of the pioneers of R&B and Acid Jazz music in Taiwan. He has contributed to a lot of well-known music albums and his band ‘Why Not’ was shortlisted in Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards. Chris was also the host and consultant of the first ever daily TV show focusing on the internet in Taiwan.
