We grew up a little from there, and found “empathy” in 2017 – a move in the right direction that resulted in a new tier of applications (and brands) that were measured for more than ease of use; ones that began to care about what you cared about, connecting on some common ground relevant to improving your daily life. But 2018? 2018 took it a step further.
2018 gave us VR that empowers veterans to help treat their PTSD; a visually stunning app called LUMEN prescribed to ease the anxiety of children facing surgery; and on a lighter note, an exploration of the emotional bond we have with our cars, and how close those cars are to understanding, adapting to and filling our emotional needs.
