The location-based interactive audiobooks for Volkswagen could be the end of "Are We Nearly There Yet" requests from children in the back of Volkswagen cars. Dentsu Aegis Network agencies Isobar Netherlands and ACHTUNG!Mcgarrybowen collaborated to demonstrate the power of storytelling and technology in creating brand experiences.
Isobar EMEA Chief Design Officer Daniel Sytsma said, "This is not your typical AR work because there is no visual element to the experience. Our goal was to create an experience for kids on the backseat that entertained them without looking at a screen. The app allows you to pick a story and hit the play button, from there on it's an audio-only experience to ensure a mixture of AR and screenless entertainment."
