Multiple eCommerce sites launched in Asia-Pacific


With no direct to consumer channel yet, Samsonite decided to launch their own site as an online "mall" to sell the whole range of Samsonite products, including Samsonite, American Tourister, Lipault, Hartmann, etc.

The results

Samsonite’s sites were successfully localised to local markets. Its Thailand site will go live 3Q of 2017. Isobar Commerce continually works on extending and improving the deployed sites further and launch to new markets in APAC.

The challenge

They were looking for a new eCommerce agency to roll out and support its global rollout across APAC

Samsonite is a leading luggage manufacturer and retailer, specialising in strong yet lightweight, innovatively designed suitcases. With ambitions to extend its reach within the APAC markets, Samsonite was looking for a global rollout across APAC on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud eCommerce platform.

The solution

Isobar Commerce deployments included localisations and integration with Samsonite’s internal order management system.

Front-end requirements were defined by a comprehensive gap-analysis phase. Many items were localized, especially for Korea market, including payment, social network, 3rd-party services and design according to local best practices. While for Thailand some localization items included, cash on delivery, removal of guest check-out, Facebook authentication and order tracking. A suitcase customization feature was also implemented, giving the end user the ability to compare suitcase sizes to inputted user height. Isobar Commerce is also providing 24/7 support for Australia, HK and Singapore sites.
