International Committee of the Red Cross & Isobar Switzerland reinforce their partnershipThe International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Isobar Switzerland today announce the extension of their partnership by launching an External Service Center to better strategize, build and maintain the tracking of humanitarian applications and projects.
Education, access and connectivity are essential for initiatives in developing regions. The ICRC ICT Department (Information & Communications Technology) provides essential applications helping to track the development of hospitals in war-affected regions, allowing local governments to connect and track missing individuals, and ensure delivery of supplies to their intended destination, among other activities managed by the systems.
This partnership intends to provide multiple interconnected systems and tools, creating a transversal Single Source of Truth (SSOT) across all of ICRC’s departments and activities. Through this new collaboration, ICRC can count on the experienced Isobar Service Center team to manage the development of tailored applications.
More than 10’000 end users will have access to the right information at the right time and will have an active and engaged Service Center committed to provide high quality development for core systems and new innovative projects.
“We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Isobar as our new External Service Center. This will provide more quality, flexibility and agility in the projects we deliver, allowing us in turn to better serve communities affected by war and armed violence.” - Jennifer Hauseman, Director of Communication and Information Management, International Committee of the Red Cross
“The continuation of our partnership is the result of our trusted collaboration as a technology vendor, using proven methodologies to deliver large-scale technology projects. We have collaborated for several years with the ICRC, and we continue to Invent, Make, Change, through providing the solutions and tools needed to deliver on their mission.” - Patrik Gamryd, Chief Executive Officer, Isobar Switzerland
Established in 1863, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. It takes action in response to emergencies and promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. www.icrc.org
