POSITION OVERVIEW
The Experience Designer is responsible for delivering impactful and strategic outcomes for clients and their customers, working with guidance and coaching across challenges that utilise all aspects of the design craft.
This role works within teams to deliver quality client outcomes, integrating relevant aspects of the design practice into Isobar’s offerings on the ground with support from senior craft team members.
The designer should be actively supporting in the management of expectations across client and internal teams and able to deliver projects with guidance. The role should support in continuous improvement of the design practice, delivering world class work across end-to-end design approaches for our clients.
ABOUT THE WORK
The team is a highly skilled, cross-functional team who are passionate about their craft, pushing boundaries, following best practices and creating exceptional experiences. We are looking for someone who loves working with designers, analysts, strategists, developers and directly with clients to help them to bring amazing ideas to life using agile design and development. You'll have a strong understanding of, and ability to provide rationale to experience design approaches within the team.
You'll also have a keen thirst to be constantly learning about new techniques and approaches that we can bring to our clients.
ABOUT YOU
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience in delivering outstanding work
- Demonstrable understanding of core experience or visual design concepts
- Demonstrated storytelling and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a project team, collaborating with a diverse range craft team members
- Experience working directly with clients and managing relationships
- Basic business acumen and skills in explaining the value of various design outcomes and approaches
- Practical experience or exposure to design research, concepting, experimentation and prototyping
- Stakeholder management and consulting skills to engender an understanding of the design process with clients.
- Exposure to agile environments and approaches
- Emerging presentation and facilitation skills
- Experience in using industry tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite or design/prototyping tools an advantage
- Stakeholder management and consulting skills to engender an understanding of the design process with clients.
- Experience in human centred design, lean start-up and/or systems thinking
- Plan and conduct design activities to create, prototype, validate, iterate and communicate designs
- Ability to plan, rationalise and conduct primary research activities (e.g stakeholder interviews, usability testing and contextual inquiry)
- Ability to plan, rationalise and conduct secondary research activities (e.g analytics reviews, landscape reviews,
- Ability to synthesise design artefacts (e.g personas, customer journey maps and reports)

- Minimum three years’ experience preparing deliverables for a variety of commercial projects as an information architect, interaction designer, design researcher, product designer, visual, UX or UI designer
- Minimum one year working in agency, consultancy or applicable industry environment
