isobar seeks volunteers for Lebenshilfe Wien – with an unusual survey

As part of its CSR activities, Dentsu Aegis Network Austria has for many years supported Lebenshilfe Wien, an organisation for people with intellectual disabilities. The network’s creative agency, isobar, has now come up with an unusual campaign.

Many people have no idea how easy it is to support Lebenshilfe as volunteers. For example, by assisting with coffee snacks, walks and trips to the cinema. Anyone who can “master” one of these activities and enjoys doing it can help. One idea that isobar has put succinctly, “Can you drink coffee? Do it with us!” can be seen, for example, on posters or in a TV or cinema ad.

#machsmituns (#doitwithus) has now continued with a format that follows on logically from the basic idea: an opinion survey on the “social skills” of the Viennese. Humorous questions like “Can you drink coffee?”, “Can you go for a walk?” and “Can you go to the cinema?” received funny answers, lots of praise for the campaign as well as public attention at a Viennese hotspot, the MuseumsQuartier. The interviews were cut into clips and are presented on www.machs-mit-uns.at, Facebook and other digital channels.

“With the campaign of isobar and its moving image and social media competence, we have been able to acquire new volunteers – and once again put ourselves in the spotlight,” says a delighted Nicole Reiter from Marketing & Communication at Lebenshilfe Wien. Wolfgang Kindermann, Creative Director of isobar, adds, “The survey was a great experience and a complete success – making it all the nicer when something like this succeeds for an organisation as important as Lebenshilfe.”
