Experience Director


We’re looking for an Experience Director to join our growing and entrepreneurial team. You’ll be responsible for creating and delivering interactive experiences from a user perspective, balancing the users’ needs alongside business goals and technical capabilities, and to further validate those experiences through user testing. You’ll be a creative problem solver who understands the needs of the audience and the strategic vision of the business, actively pursues new and complex challenges and is comfortable leading Experience Design projects, as well as quickly grasping the narrative set forth by other team leads.

Main Responsibilities

As our Experience Director you’ll work closely with the Chief Creative Officer and Experience Designer to produce ground-breaking work using sketches interaction models and user journeys, while documenting those interactions for visual designers and developers using prototypes or annotated wireframes as relevant. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and will actively seek to refine and adhere to project scope and budget. We’re looking for someone who is on the ball with the latest technology and human interactions while looking for opportunities to learn and contribute to ideas and innovations within the discipline.

You will possess an excellent working knowledge of the creative processes and techniques, especially as they pertain to the UX discipline. You’ll champion best practices of usability and user-centric design and display an emergent working knowledge of behavioural economics. You’ll also have a strong understanding of technology and its applications and creatively support the effective use of technology to solve business problems. We’re looking for a leader, someone who can mentor and communicate effectively with junior staff and will be a key contributor on pitch teams. Our Experience Director will proactively identify opportunities to increase depth and breadth of creative work performed for clients, both from an understanding of the clients business and needs, but also from a knowledge of the industry, innovation and competitors. You’ll be able to adapt to changing requirements and be able to create a supportive culture which encourages people to consistency excel within the creative team.

You’ll need…

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of industry standard user experience, information architecture and prototyping tools such as Axure and Omnigraffle.
  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility standards.
  • Experience or ability with CSS, HTML, ActionScript and Javascript is considered a plus but not required
  • Project Management experience
  • Customer journey understanding
  • Multi-platform knowledge
  • To be excellent at story telling
